The County had a major disappointing weekend when they were entertained by Lancashire in Wigan losing by a 25-11 margin. Ladies B could and should have had more of the spoils with wins from Lisa Whitmore and LOM Nina Bolt. Mens B were depleted straight away with three withdrawing late on, so reserves and two officials took to the stage as cover on the day. Good wins came to us via Ted Evetts, Simon Power on his return and a MOM show from Matt Edgar. Sunday offered little more in resistance with Ladies again going down 2-4 with wins from Kat Spanswick and LOM Angela Jones. Mens A looked strong and would take some beating but somehow Lancs went into an unassailable lead by 6 games to 0, only for Warwickshire to take four from the remaining six with wins from Mark Carter, Noel Grant, Jamie Hughes and in a brilliant seven leg tussle the eventual MOM Nigel Heydon. Got to be stronger in our next outing at home versus Cambridgeshire.
