Warwickshire faced an uphill battle this weekend when taking on Essex. They couldnt have got off to a worse start when losing the first two games 3-2 both after being 2-0 up. Marian Conway and Wendy Adams LOM 17.10 were the only winners. Mens B got off to a flier with Dave Hill MOM 27.19. But then the nerves kicked in and found themselves well behind, but a good middle order got us back on track where we eventually took a 6-6 draw. Ladies A took a great 3-3 draw with Sue Gulliver leading the front with a 23.86 LOM. Other winners were Caroline Pike and Donna Pinch. Still two behind on the overall needing a win from the Mens A with Ian McFarlane taking his 2nd consecutive MOM with a 31.17 which a included a brilliant 170 outshot. Other winners were Jamie Atkins, Kevin Dowling, Nigel Heydon, Tommy Aldridge, Steve Giddings and Dean Stewart. Next on with an away game in Glamorgan.
