Jamie Hughes completed his group stage matches with a victory over James Wilson to progress into the knockout stages of the event. Hughes had won his game over Dave Chisnall with a stunning 106 ave, he had earlier lost to James Wade after being 3 legs up. Ted Evetts did not make the knockout stages but will have certainly had many form the darts arena and from TV audiences looking up and seeing only a bright future. Ted took to the TV stage like it was the local club oche and produced darts of the highest quality but had that trademark smile on his face at all times. Our sponsors the SMC ltd also had two players gunning for glory but both failed to make the last 16, Dimitri Van Den Bergh gave the TV audience something to laugh about with his dance routine but won two of his games but lost out agonisingly to a 9 dart shootout with Robert Thornton as both players had finished on equal points, stablemate Mensur Suljovic did not produce his recent brilliant form and bowed out after one win, however Glen Durrant proved his BDO Number 1 ranking when winning two of his games and going through to the KO Stage.
