Ashley Hykin proved to be the power player on the night as he triumphed in the first Mens Superleague Open of the season. 55 players took to the event with many on the night looking for that top prize in a fund nearing £400. Many of the players that would normally be seen in the final stages found themselves on the wrong end of the game as they bowed out at the first hurdle. Hykin playing steady all night reached the semi final stage where he would face Rob Hawker who was like Hykin playing very well. Down to the final leg Hykin finished off with a neat 86 finish on the Bull. The other semi final also went the full distance with Simon Power overcoming Mark Strong in a great tussle. Hykin came through in the final where Simon seemed to have used all his powers (No Pun Intended) in his semi final battle with a 3-0 win which won him his prize and also along with others raised some eyebrows with County Darts in mind, the future looks bright for the County.
